Hello all!
I'm writing this as I finish up some laundry and prepare to head back to Oaxaca this week. What a summer! I've spent an amazing month resting, making memories with friends and family, and preparing my heart for another year of missions work. The past year was extremely challenging, and I know my perspective on ministry and God's calling has become more clear. I cannot wait to hit the ground running for year four.
But first, a quick recap: -This past school year was crazy. I taught 7-12th English, including the AP English course. I also taught AP Psychology, a class I thoroughly enjoyed.
-Youth group gained two new leaders (though we lost two from the year before as they moved back to the States). We've had retreats, weekend activities, game nights, and fellowship with the MKs.
-This year was our Re-Entry year, which meant we spent a lot of time with the Jr/Sr class, prepping them for their transition back to their passport countries after graduation.
-MK camp saw growth as well, as our staff and support team added new members. Camp was a huge success, with MKs making connections and lifelong friends with other MKs.
-Our church sent out ministry workers to many villages (including the village we've been working in ever since the big earthquake a couple of years ago). We've had VBS activities, dental clinics, medical clinics, and much more.
-And our Women's Project Ministry saw incredible change. This year we became an official Civil Association and we even started renting a place where we can host activities. It's been incredible.
I couldn't do it without the constant prayer, encouragement, and support from all of you! God's grace and direction have been so clear and obvious to me this year, but the overwhelming days, the difficult days, the tired days... those are the days when your words and faith in me have pushed me to walk in obedience as well. When the doubt lies within myself, not in the clear path God has laid before me, you guys remind me. I feel extremely blessed to have people who give sage advice, inspiring encouragement, and who share a passion and heart for the people of Oaxaca. Thank you.
