Ruth Goes to Mexico
WHO AM I? Where am I going?
My name is Ruth and I am in Oaxaca, Mexico! Oaxaca is a beautiful state in Mexico filled with many cultures and rich history. We export coffee, pottery, rugs, and we are known for our food (um, hello, tacos!) I grew up in Oaxaca as a Missionary Kid, and I'm very excited to be back. This blog/website is set up to keep everyone up to date on the work we are doing and the adventures I go on!
The main areas I'm involved with are:
-Girasol. I help lead a team of women that strive to show love and care towards women who have been trafficked or are in situations of prostitution here in the city.
-Teaching MKs English. I teach 9-12th grade English, including AP English Language and Literature. I also teach AP Psychology.
-Youth Group. I help lead a youth group for MKs. We have camps, retreats, re-entry seminars, and many game nights.
